Notes

There are many options for today's lesson. Unforgettable Natural Disasters discusses additional forms of natural disasters such as  famine and drought, heat waves, epidemics and pandemics.

The book was published in 2013 and does not discuss COVID-19, however it does address epidemics and pandemics more broadly. Depending on the experience of your students and their families, you may decide that it's best for your class to skip the pages on epidemics and pandemics.
