Notes

?

  • This character deep dive should build on what students did after finishing book one. Students should be challenged to think about what additional information they learned about both characters in this text and how the additional evidence broadens their understanding of both characters.
  • Before analyzing the characters, have students retell and chart the key plot events of the story. Students should use the key plot events as a guide for which details about the character are important.
  • After students have participated in a deep discussion and close read, students should write about both characters.
